Stand Up & Shout: Songs From A Philly High School

Directed by Emmy® and Peabody winner Amy Schatz (HBO’s We Are the Dream: The Kids of the Oakland MLK Oratorical Fest), this heartwarming documentary follows a group of 10th graders from Philadelphia’s Hill-Freedman World Academy as they take part in a unique songwriting collaboration that teaches the students how to compose, produce, and perform their own work. Back in the classroom after two years of pandemic isolation, the teenagersteam up with local musicians to create an album of powerful original songs that capture the challenging times they’re living in and the joy that music brings.
