The Wedding Singer

Set in the not-too-distant past of 1985, goofball comedian Adam Sandler is Robbie Hart, an aspiring singer-songwriter who pays the bills by playing at wedding banquets. After being abandoned at the altar by his sweetheart (Angela Featherstone - Zero Effect), Robbie becomes extremely jaded to the sacred notion of love and commitment - that is until he meets Julia the waitress (the adorable Barrymore - Never Been Kissed). But there's such one slight complication: Julia is engaged to Glenn, a two-timing stockbroker jerk who Robbie knows would only give Julia heartaches than happiness; she deserves better. Aided by his pal Sammy, Alan Covert-Check (Big Daddy, The Waterboy) and Billy Idol (in a cameo), Robbie attempts to win back Julia?s heart. A sweet romantic comedy featuring a knock-out 80s soundtrack (from the likes of Depeche Mode, The Police, Culture Club and Kajagoogoo). Look out for an uncredited appearance by Steve Buscemi as a drunk and Sandler?s hilarious rendition of Madonna's Holiday.
