In this premiere episode of MarkKim + Chef, Kim will learn how to cook Royal Thai cuisine from Chef Pom (M.L. Kwantip Devakula), who is known for her critical and assertive nature. Chef Pom was born and raised in the Devavesm palace in Thailand and has expertise in cooking authentic traditional Thai cuisine. Kim learns two special dishes, including Tom Yum Kung, a recipe that traditionally incorporates large river prawns as its main ingredient and a side dish of fermented soybean dip. Will Kim succeed?
Mark and Kim invite their best friends, Pok and Margie, to join them for dinner in this week’s episode. The couple's culinary skills will be tested as they learn how to prepare fine dining cuisine from Chef Ian (Pongtawat Chalermkittichai). Chef Ian introduces to the couple, his personal signature recipe: Rossini steak and foie gras with red wine truffle sauce, and Hokkaido scallop served with cashew milk and jalapeno sauce. Will the couple meet the expectations of Chef Ian?
Chef Pam (Pichaya Soontornyanakij), is a world-class, award-winning chef who has received distinguished accolades such as the ’30 Under 30 Forbes’ Award for creating and designing the future of the world culinary in 2015, the ‘Rising Star’ Award from Top 25 Restaurants in 2022 and more. She has experience in working at a three Michelin-star restaurant, Jean-Georges, at the Trump Hotel in New York City. Chef Pam gives Mark his biggest challenge yet, the task of filleting a whole salmon and to prepare a special menu for his soon-to-be bride, Kim.
In this episode, Mark and Kim will be taught the art of dessert making by famous Thai pâtissier, Chef Penny (Pennee Jirayuwatana). They will learn multiple techniques in making desserts, as well as recipes for a healthy dessert. After many failed attempts, Kim will also finally get another chance to impress her sister and best friend with recipes she has learnt from Chef Penny.
Mark and Kim have enlisted Chef Randy (Chaichat Noprapa), a celebrity chef known for his Japanese cuisine, to help them curate and create a ‘Homakase’ meal for the couple’s closest friends. The innovative at-home Omakase-style meal includes quality ingredients such as ikura, uni and otoro, accompanied by the classic tamagoyaki (Japanese omelette) and red miso soup with clams. Mark and Kim sharpen their knife skills and are put to work like chefs at a professional omakase restaurant!
In this episode, Chef Tam (Chudaree Debhakam) helps Kim tackle a dish she previously failed miserably at, pasta. Chef Tam not only teaches Kim how to make pasta from scratch, but to also make fresh pesto sauce and butternut squash soup.
Chef Black (Phanuphon Bulsuwan) is one of Mark and Kim’s favorite chefs and friend. In this episode, Mark and Kim focus on an unexpected mix of cuisine, Thai and German. Included in the menu is a Northern style chicken schnitzel and khao soi with German sausage, served with sauerkraut and zucchini, a beautiful blend of both Mark and Kim’s heritage. Not only will the couple need to follow Chef Black’s instructions carefully, but they will also need to impress Kim’s siblings who will be there to taste the final dishes.
Chinese dishes are typically heavy, deep-fried, and loaded with spices. But today, Chef Pom (Thanarak Chuto), a veteran of 40 years in Chinese cuisine is here to challenge this misconception. Watch as Chef Pom passes on his recipes of healthy Chinese dishes, from grouper sour plum soup to baked rice with abalone.

In this episode, Kim will once again have to put on her chef’s hat to cook for her soon-to-be husband and invites Chef Nooror Somany Steppe, a chef with more than 40 years of culinary experience and is the owner of world-famous restaurant, Blue Elephant. Chef Nooror teaches the couple the trick to a gripping menu which involves ingredients such as chakham leaves from Mark’s hometown for crab curry and longan, an exotic fruit for a sticky rice dish called the “Forgotten Husband”.
