After screening thousands of submissions, Issa, Kumail, and Gina select ten talented female filmmakers for a shot at directing their first feature.

With just seven weeks until the start of filming, Meko turns to the mentors for advice before diving into the script, while simultaneously working on hiring an all-star crew. Later, Meko finds herself torn between two talented production designers.

While Meko continues to stall on the script, a last-minute staffing change throws a wrench in production. After a successful location scouting session, the development team works with Meko on the writing process.

In an effort to speed up the writing process, Issa’s team brings in a group of script consultants to pitch potential fixes. Then, after clashing over casting, Meko finds herself fighting for her choice for the film’s lead.

After finally settling on a lead, Meko breathes a sigh of relief… until a surprise resignation threatens to derail shooting. Later, Meko faces an important meeting with studio executives – but will she be able to rise to the challenge?

When a lackluster table read leaves studio executives with doubts, the development team has a heart-toheart with their director. Later, Meko prepares to pitch her vision for Gray Matter, a meeting which could make or break the feature… and her career.

As shooting on Gray Matter begins, setbacks lead to rising animosity between the film crew and the Project Greenlight team. Meanwhile, a serious discussion leads to a potential breakthrough, and the film’s young star begins to feel the effects of an intense schedule.

Gray Matter’s shooting schedule begins to take a toll on the cast and crew while wreaking havoc on the film’s tight budget. Despite both teams’ best efforts, Meko and her assistant director deal with the frustrations of shooting a feature and a docuseries at the same time.

As post-production begins, Meko has just 10 weeks to edit her film – but a health scare threatens to prevent her from crossing the finish line.

After a disappointing screening, Meko’s mentors offer some sage advice. Later, Meko attends the Gray Matter premiere – and looks back at her journey.
