The Climb S1

Beginning their journey in Majorca, Spain, Chris Sharma and Megan Martin welcome ten aspiring rock climbers with an intimidating deep water solo challenge. But with inclement weather looming and a randomly assigned climbing order, the contestants feel the pressure on their very first climb.

After a grueling elimination climb, Chris and Megan host a movie night to analyze the climbers’ performances in Majorca. Later, the contestants tackle “Boys Don’t Cry,” an iconic route requiring technical precision and trust in a belayer.

The climbers face a true test of mental and physical strength as they tackle the difficult discipline of bouldering in Albarracín, Spain. Then, a two-boulder elimination climb ups the skill level of an already grueling climbing practice.

Chris welcomes the climbers to his home, with one catch: They have to set up camp outside. Meanwhile, a climber tends to an injury as the contestants prepare to face their most daunting challenge yet.

After exploring the beautiful sights of Wadi Rum Valley in Jordan, Megan and Chris present the contestants with their most meaningful climb yet – the chance to send and name a first ascent. But first, a no-hands boulder challenge determines the climbing order and, later, an unexpected circumstance shakes up the elimination climb.

The remaining climbers take on trad climbing in a nail-biting challenge that forces them to place their own supports, testing both skill and focus. Later, a surprise double elimination turns up the heat in the final climb.

In a finale-deciding ascent, the remaining contestants partner up to surmount a 400-foot multi-pitch climb. Later, a nerve-racking elimination climb focused on speed and agility brings the competition to Chris’ personal gym.

For their last climb, Chris and Megan take the final three back to where it all began – the oceanside cliffs of Majorca. As they prepare to face El Diablo, Majorca’s most difficult summit, the climbers reflect on their journeys before going head-to-head in one last fight for $100,000 and a career-changing prAna sponsorship.
